QUEST HEADSET TESTING
STEPS
- Publish the app (or use the https preview link). WebXR only works on https pages.
- Put on the Quest, set up a Stationary (seated) or Roomscale boundary with at least 2 m × 2 m clear space.
- Open Meta Quest Browser and type the app address (tip: send the link to yourself via the Meta Horizon app, or bookmark it).
- In the lobby, choose player, Practice or League, difficulty and Standing/Seated. The green chip should read “VR ready”.
- Press ENTER VR with the controller trigger. Allow the immersive permission prompt if shown.
- Hold both controllers. Pink saber = left hand, cyan = right. Stand on the green floor ring.
- Blocks arrive after a 3-second count-in. Swing through them in the arrow direction; you'll feel a haptic pulse on hits.
- After the song ends, results appear on the floating panel and you return to the lobby automatically; the run is saved.
- To quit early, press the Meta/Oculus button and exit — abandoned runs are not saved.
TEST CHECKLIST
- Both sabers appear in the correct hands and follow the controllers smoothly.
- Slow touches do not score; real swings do. Wrong-colour saber or wrong direction shows a miss.
- Music and block arrivals stay in sync for the full song (≈83 s).
- Seated mode: all blocks reachable without leaning. Standing: blocks at chest/shoulder height.
- Run appears in the League dashboard with correct points and handicap.
- Framerate feels smooth (no judder) on Hard.
SAFETY & COMFORT
- No ducking, dodging, walls or twisting — only arm swings in front of you.
- Use wrist straps. Keep pets and people out of the boundary.
- Seated mode lowers every block for chairs or wheelchairs (use a chair without arms).
- Take breaks; stop if you feel discomfort.
PERFORMANCE NOTES
- Low-poly shared geometry, block pooling, no realtime shadows, fixed foveated rendering on.
- Audio is scheduled ahead on the Web Audio clock, which drives all block positions.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- ENTER VR greyed out: you're not on https or not in Quest Browser.
- No sound: check headset volume; audio starts when you press ENTER VR.
- Blocks too high/low: recenter (hold Meta button), or switch Standing/Seated.
Note: this build has been verified in a desktop browser. In-headset behaviour must be confirmed on a real Quest using the checklist above.
